Following the Savior Activity

For our Stake Primary activity day, we went back in time to the Holy Land, “Following the Savior” to see what His life was like. We divided the children into 5 groups (about 15-20 each) to rotate to each class to hear 2 stories (3-5 minutes each) and then do a 10 minute activity. All were asked to dress in character with biblical style clothing/robes.

The stories all came from a series in the 2010/2011 Friend Magazine and were retold from the point of view of someone who "witnessed" the event.

Invitation rolled into scrolls and tied with string. Posters printed on 11x17" and mounted on a half sheet of poster board.

Children entered a Bizaar in old Jerusalem.

(Hold up picture of CTR shield) As you take off on your missions, you will experience a Spiritual Lift. Choosing the right gives you continual lift. It keeps us moving forward and enables us to rise above the world, where we can see clearly how to return to our Heavenly Father.

(Hold up picture of compass) We'll be traveling at an altitude of 35,000 feet and may experience some minor turbulence. In the event the winds of temptation take us off course, your spiritual navigator, the Holy Ghost, will provide constant promptings about how to correct your course. If you listen carefully, he will guide you.

(Hold up picture of scriptures/prayer) In the event of a sudden drop or change in your testimony, stay calm and read the instruction manuals – the scriptures – then get on your knees, bow your head and start praying.

Thank you and enjoy your short flight.
